With the various different sources of marketing data entering your ActiveConversion account, there's bound to be some overlap of information. That's where the "Merge Duplicates" feature comes in handy.
ACCESSING MERGE DUPLICATES
The "Merge Duplicates" feature can be accessed from any of your primary sales pages (Companies, Prospects, or Leads). If you navigate to one of these sales pages, and click the 3 horizontal lines at the right of the screen, select "Merge Duplicates" at the bottom of the list.
Once you click this button, you'll be directed to a new page called "Find Duplicates." On this page, you can decide whether you would like to merge companies or contacts. To swap between merging companies and contacts, click on the tabs in the menu below the "Find Duplicates" page title.
You can also search contacts using the "Search" function located at the right hand side of the screen. This makes it easier to find contacts quickly when you may have many contacts to look through.
MERGING INFORMATION
Once you select the Contacts tab, you will see a list of all your duplicate contacts in small tables. Each individual table includes the various duplicate entries that exist in your ActiveConversion account.
Review the information and click the blue "Merge" button, to begin merging the contact.
After clicking the "Merge" button, a panel will appear on the right-hand side of your screen displaying the information found in your duplicates.
Any information that is not consistent between all the duplicates will be displayed as a list of options. Select the option that is most accurate for your contact.
Once you're happy with your selections, click the green "Merge" button.
That's it! You're done. The contact has been merged.
Note: Once two duplicate items have been merged using the Merge Duplicates feature, they cannot be un-merged. If you are not certain that two items are duplicates, we suggest leaving them separate until you can confirm that they are.
